Robert Clifford

Biography

Robert Clifford has been in the commercial real estate business for over 42 years starting with the Charles Dunn Company, Western Holdings and Capital Real Estate Advisors. His first major client was National Medical Enterprises, a Fortune 500 company (now Tenet Healthcare) whom he represented nationally for over 12 years. Following that he was the land acquisition broker for Sunrise Senior Housing, completing over 38 transactions in the Southern California market over a 15 year period. He also completed additional deals with Oakmont Senior Living, Fountain Square, and Kensington Senior Living.

Partnering with the Chairman of American Golf, Robert then founded American Airports Corporation and grew the company into the largest general aviation airport management and development company in the country in a five-year period. Once they acquired these airports under long-term at-risk management contracts, they built them out with hangars, FBO’s, industrial buildings and did long term ground leases with third-party developers. During his tenure they grew to operating 21 airports with over 2,200 tenants, multiple fueling facilities, and were responsible for the planning and development of 15,000 + acres of land. During this time, I also assisted American Golf and National Golf Properties (a NYSE REIT) in the organization and sale of over 20 golf courses all across the country. After five years he sold his interest in the company.

For the last 12 years he has been a Partner in the Santa Monica office of Lee & Associates. Robert has been focusing on sales and leasing of industrial buildings and creative office conversions in the mid-city area of Los Angeles, completing over 50 + transactions in this area alone. He is now turning his attention to Small Bay Industrial Investments in Coastal Southern California!
